A Start in Life, proudly supported by the Banna Foundation, hosted this year’s Prize Giving Ceremony — an event that was more than just a celebration. It was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when young people are genuinely supported. The room was filled with pride and purpose as students, families and supporters came together to recognise growth, resilience and achievement.
Among them was Natalie, a Year 2 student whose journey shows how early encouragement can spark lifelong confidence. Once quiet and unsure, Natalie has blossomed into a curious and enthusiastic learner, taking part in choir, public speaking (in two languages) and dreaming of one day becoming a paramedic. She proudly received the Best School Attendance and Effort award from Doug Chan — a moment that recognised not just her dedication, but the village behind her.
With continued support, Natalie’s future, like so many others celebrated that day, is full of promise.
